Allied Members are not Architects, but are professionals in related fields, who collaborate with and support Architects in the creation of the built environment.

The History of the AIA


If you are an individual on track for licensure while either in school or employed, participating in career responsibilities recognized by licensing authorities as constituting credit toward licensure (intern), under the supervision of an architect in a professional or technical capacity, A faculty member in a university program in architecture or hold a professional degree in architecture, you are eligible to join the AIA as an Associate member.

Joining the AIA can greatly assist you in your professional development. Whether it’s assistance with the licensing process through group study sessions, study materials or seminars to networking with peers and industry leaders, AIA can help.
